Thanks Tarah, there were several really great stories I didn't put into this blog, and your volleyball comment reminds me of Dave being so excited to tell me: "Have you ever seen those 60 foot high posters they hang on buildings these days?" "Why sure, Dave, HPs Scitex division prints those." "Yeah, duh I know that, but at PSU there's this HUGE one with Nicole's picture on it!" He was so proud of Nicole being on that poster. At the memorial we heard that Dave used to be a volleyball addict, playing on the sand all day every day. No wonder he got into ultrarunning. Oh yeah, and not suprising to hear he volunteered (sense a theme here?) for the OSU volleyball team for something like 25 years consecutively. So many stories, don't even start getting me talking about Hood to Coast, which is how I first met Dave...

Deep Mudd Shoe Fishing. I like it. Do you need a license for that or can anyone play? Is there a taxidermist for shoes?

Thanks for the insight MB.

Something I learned at the Mac in 05: leave your shoe laces untied. This way, when your shoes get sucked off in a foot of mud, you don't have to dig so deep to retrieve them, just search for the laces! Pretty smart, huh?

Hey gang,

I continue to love the series, even if I am not doing a lot of races in it anymore. I'm not sure if you have considered a short course and a long course version at all. With 3 50K's, a 40M, 50M, and 100K there could be 2 separate divisions for overall champion and a short course champion for the 40 mile or shorter races to have those have greater meaning in the series, at least for the top end runners.

100 miles definitely affects scores pretty dramatically. I finished 11 hours behind Tim at P2P and would still get 62+ points under current guidelines. I think a 100 miler would get 1 less race to count for his/her score to make it less unbalanced in favor of 1 race.
